Serenity Family Day Care

Our family day care home provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where children can learn, play, and feel at home. I strive to create a family-oriented environment where children are integrated into our family. 

PROGRAMME & ACTIVITIES
Our daily program offers a mix of free play and semi-structured activities.
Our play environment includes:

• Block/Construction: wooden blocks, Lego/Duplo, other building materials.
• Manipulative/Fine Motor/Tinker Play: various loose parts and natural materials.
• Dramatic Play: dress-ups, hats, bags, scarves, shirts, dresses.
• Creative Play: play-dough, crayons, pencils, glue, collage, recycled materials.
• Reading/Puzzles: board books, picture books, age-appropriate puzzles.
• Music: assortment of musical instruments, scarves, and a fun music playlist.
• Play Gyms/Cubby Houses, Climbing Frames/Monkey Bars, Slides, See-saw.
• Sand Table with buckets, spades, sieves, and containers.
• Bikes, tricycles, ride-along, and push toys.
• Outdoor Chalkboard and Water/Sensory/Messy Play.

MEALS & SNACKS:
I provide one nutritious meal and two snacks each day.
Sample menu items include:
Morning or Afternoon Tea: fresh seasonal fruits with yogurt/cheese, homemade pancakes, french toast, muffins.
Lunch: Spaghetti Bolognese, Chilli Con Carne, Macaroni & Cheese with mashed cauliflower, Homemade Pizzas, Vegetable frittata, Vegetable & lentil curry, Quesadillas, Sandwiches/Wraps.

PARENT COMMUNICATION
I understand the importance of keeping parents informed about their child's well-being and daily activities.
Communication mediums include:
Parent portal app: daily updates with photos and key highlights of your child’s day.
Observations and Learning Journeys: detailed notes on individual children’s learning experiences based on the Early Years Learning Framework.
Email communication: important announcements, reminders, policy changes.
